From the Hood : Lost in Wiseacre Wood
Because Werewolf 18 came out, like, last week. It sounds like people have been charmed by my contribution, which is nice. Probably my lingering attitude to the original coming through.
The remarks I teased last time are all the more relevant because the book I stopped reading to read Cold Comfort Farm was an old, century-spanning comedy writing compendium edited by PG Woodehouse, which includes a non-Pooh-related bit by AA Milne.
Short version - comic prose really does seem to get better the more recent it is. Fewer bright young things having house parties and teasing the poor, for example.
