Werewolf: From The Hood: WINZ Of Omission

YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH WORK AND INCOME NEW ZEALAND

Dear Mr Zealand-Government, I have been asked to review your case.

The first matter concerns your behaviour during recent appointments. I have to inform you we consider it entirely unacceptable... More>>

From Werewolf 33, which contains much goodness and had just been announced the winner of this week's Alcohol Sponsorship Press Awards.

And to be sure you both know, I'm in WIT's improvised soap opera (tickets cheaper if you book), Wednesday nights at the Fringe Bar August and September.

There are picture and stuff on the Facbook page.

Things to blog about:

Men At Work. Will I get in trouble if I say that, when I was in Australia, I saw a kookaburra sit in an old gum tree? Post could include reference to Neil Gaiman.

The neurology of getting jokes. Could also mention Neil Gaiman.

The general use of the words 'satire' and 'caricature' with specific reference to DPF's review of Vernon God Little. Did I mention Neil Gaiman's coming to Wellington?

The way I'll be be performing in the Wellington improvathon at the Wellington Performing Art Centre on Sat, midnight to 6 and 6 to midnight shifts. Follow the increasing incoherent tweets at @WITonline. @neilhimself will almost certainly not be there.

Lyndon Hood - just making it up as I go along, Wellington

Nothing new, sorry.

I have to say for while there it was barely possible to write any satire on New Zealand politics - one couldn't really write about anything but Winston, but, as far satirising as him went, there was nothing to add to the work of nature.

That has not been the only factor, but you may hear from me soon.

Anyhow, I'm improvising on Wednesday night (8pm, Blue Note, more). In Gorilla Theatre each player takes turns directing the others in improvised scenes and the director with the most winningness wins. This would be my first public go at this format.

Come along, say hi.

Something To Go To In Wellington

Before the season is entirely over, I though I should tell my reader/s that there is Improv to be had.

Catch 23 - "Wellington's friendliest team on team on team improv cage death match".

The idea is that each team has a total of precisely 23 minutes to create four rounds of improvised goodness.

I'll be performing this Saturday. My team is called 'The Karori Netball Club'. We're the ones with the legs. If we win we'll be back the next week, but that's not a sure thing so it's best to go to both.

Also, The Improvisors are doing Theatresports Sundays at Circa.

Anyway:

Catch 23 - Improv Comedy

Direct from the dirty underground streets of North America comes the newest team on team… on team improv comedy cage match.

Watch as teams from around Wellington fight in this bloody battle royale of improv mayhem to claim the title and defend their crown week after week.

Wellington Performing Arts Centre
36 Vivian St, City

Adults $12 / Conc. $10
